The Bruners
Our adventure with Jacob Pichhadze and his Yazi Gallery started when a friend suggested that we consider having our daughter Katherine take art lessons there. Our friend , who had studied fine arts and was an accomplished artist, felt that Jacob Pichhadze provided the best art classes she had attended. She also believed our daughter had some artistic talent – on that count, we were doubtful.
Katherine was 9 at the time, I saw nothing that would lead me to believe she was a talented artist, but all the same we eventually went for an interview. Looking at the paintings on the wall, I could see all the talent that Jacob has under his tutelage, and worried how my non-artist daughter could possibly fit in, but Jacob saw something and accepted her.
We started off with one hour a week and that quickly became two hours every Saturday or Sunday morning. The Saturday and Sunday classes are filled with a mix of adults and children, and being able to work and socialize with other adults, has been an important aspect of our daughter’s growth.
I’ve seen Katherine’s handwriting skills improve, her self-confidence with adults improve, her ability to reason and discuss improve. Art is the one class she never complains about. She has memorized Jacobs five principles – patience, discipline, focus, balance, concentration - and sometimes even applies them!
I truly never expected to gain an artist out of this process, but Jacob has worked his magic and created an artist out of our daughter. She has done some wonderful paintings, and I couldn’t be more proud of what she has accomplished.
Someday I too hope to attend Jacob’s magical art classes. Everyone should avail themselves of that opportunity, but for a child in particular, Yazi Art Gallery and Jacob Pichhadze make for a special and magical Saturday or Sunday morning.
Thank you, Jacob!

There are many things to say about Yazi Art School and world-renowned artist and mentor Jacob Pichhadze. Only starting at the school less then a year ago, I have been completely transformed in the world of art. I came to Jacob in desperate need of a portfolio for a competitive design program to be completed in only 7 months. Jacob had extreme patience with me and taught me how to become a disciplined art student. Not only did I attend his regular classes, but once I came back home from university, Jacob went out of his way to be at Yazi Art School everyday of the week just for me because he knew how much I needed his aid. Our efforts were successful and I completed a portfolio that I never knew I was capable of and my admission to OCAD University in the Environmental Design program was accepted. I could not be happier to finally be in the number one program of my choice and I am extremely thankful to Jacob for all of his hard work.
Studying at Yazi Art School and under Jacob Pichhadze has been and will continue to be an incredible experience. I am now producing more works and soon hope to start being apart of art expositions. Jacob not only acted as my teacher in art but a teacher in life as well, treating me as one of his own, as he does to all his students. All of my fellow students are very encouraging to one another and it is an amazing creative and welcoming environment to be apart of. Every time I leave his art class I feel proud at what I’ve accomplished there and I will continue to attend Jacobs classes in the years to come.
Jacob gives his all to his students and never holds back from them. He is a dedicated and amazing teacher whom I am very thankful to have in my life. As well, I would like to send my best wishes and thanks to the supportive and creative Pichhadze family.

I feel very proud to introduce myself as a master student of internationally acclaimed artist Prof. Jacob Pichhadze. Education and art are a medium for realizing and expressing one self. When Entering Yazi Gallery, it was like entering an artist’s heaven. I felt an enormous creative vibration.
I came to take classes at the school all the way from Florida. When I arrived for my first class, based on the phone conversations, Prof. Pichhadze had already set aside several books. Each book had sticky notes on many pages to highlight the topics I needed to focus on for my further development. I thank him for all the support, education and encouragement that I received from him, in particular, I appreciate the experience of
· Strong foundation is principles and elements of art
· Artists and Art History
· Composition Development
· Material collection
· Application of paint
· Business Culture and Ethics
· Signing, Dating and Finishing for museum quality art work
· Style of organizing, interacting and working.
Prof. Pichhadze’s unique style of interaction has made me reconsider my own way of interacting with my family and friends. He has a passion for teaching and uses only positive enforcements. He is very sincere and has a high work ethic that he imbibes into his students. His commitment to quality and creativity of art along with his motivating words are a blessing for the artist’s community.
In class, I was encouraged to listen to his teachings to students. This provided me a phenomenal exposure to other art movements and styles. Apart from teaching art, Prof. Pichhadze focused on developing me into creative and successful artist. Sensing my dreams and ambitions, he gently walked me into the world of art and business. His classes did not end in the classroom. He continues to motivate, encourage and guide me. The entire Pichhadze family is passionately involved in art and the care of the Yazi’s art students.
I wish Prof. Pichhadze all the success in his ambition to create breathtaking art and also enhance the skills of the arising artists. I will always be grateful for the knowledge he imparted and continues to impart to me. I have found a friend, philosopher and guide in Prof. Pichhadze. Studying in Yazi Gallery was one of my life’s best experiences.

Sari Ronen:
"Since I began studying under Master Artist Jacob Pichhadze almost twelve years ago, at the age of ten, Yazi School of Visual Art has been like a second home to me. Throughout the years, visual art has transformed from a hobby into a passion, and now even further, into an industry I have chosen to pursue in my future career. With Mr. Pichhadze’s guidance I prepared an outstanding portfolio and was accepted into my first choice University program, visual art at York University, only two days following my interview. Since then, Jacob’s support has only grown, as he has motivated me to reach new heights in my technique and creativity. With his encouragement and ongoing support, I applied for a prestigious internship position at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan, and was chosen from over one thousand applicants to work in the MoMA’s Exhibition registration and collection management department. I could not be more thankful to Jacob for all the knowledge and support he has given me over the years. I can’t wait to see what else the future holds."

Vladimir Druts:
"It's been over a decade since I learned from Jacob Pichhadze at the Yazi School of fine-arts and yet the messages and inspiration I gained from him during those days, still endure. I cannot understate the importance of this type of arts education. He taught in a style reminiscent of the old Italian and Dutch masters of the Renaissance but most importantly was how he became your friend. A true role model, instilling work ethics that have remained with me to this day. The work I now produce as a film maker and photographer although not directly related to painting have Jacob and the virtuous of detail, harmony and meticulous hard work which he instilled in me, to thank."

Rebecca Levin:
“As a child, I attended many different art schools. However, it was not until I arrived at the YAZI School of Visual Arts, that I was encouraged to develop my own personal style. Jacob Pichhadze uses positive reinforcement not only to teach his students art techniques of the masters but to also instill a sense of values and principles in them. Now as an adult, I take the ongoing lessons of creativity, individuality and discipline into my daily life outside of the art world.”
